I read Stephen King’s Green Mile years ago, and it goes without saying that John Coffey was one of my favourite characters. When I heard about the movie, I wasn’t sure if they would be able to portray the character as well as the novel. I was happy to see that the movie was as captivating as the book, and I know for a fact that the role of John Coffey could not have been better enacted by none other than Michael Clarke.
This painting is an homage to the man who touched all of our hearts, especially in the scene where his final wish to watch the movie Top Hat (1935) takes him to another world and simply enchants him.
